How to Take Control of the Recovery Process with Independent Exercise

How to Take Control of the Recovery Process with Independent Exercise

Empower Yourself Throughout the Recovery from Chronic Pain

Empowering yourself with independent exercise for recovery

The most important aspect about treatment in relation to physical trauma is you taking control of your own recovery and the pace of the recovery. I understand that the process of getting better and back to your regular life is scary but you need to grab this with both hands! As you go through the process of learning each exercise, understand why those specific exercises work and what they affect, because it will help build your independence as you progress through the program. By working on independence from the beginning, you’ll provide yourself with a better opportunity of growth throughout your treatment, but also once you leave our care!

Building confidence is simple:

Stop limiting yourself and break free from the negative mindset

By celebrating small victories, learning from setbacks, and pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone, you not only become more confident but also develop resilience. Negative thoughts are allowed in minimal quantities, but we don’t want them to be the bulk of your thoughts.

Get into a routine that suits your day to day

Completing all of the provided exercises takes a large chunk of your time. Instead of sitting down to do an hour of stretches everyday, split the exercises up so they fit into your schedule! You’ll be more compliant with them if you can easily incorporate them into your life.

Have fun learning new ways to improve your knowledge of the body to help take control of your journey

Learning names of muscles and exercises makes your rehab more fun and engaging. If you know why your body is feeling a certain way, you’re able to help yourself feel better later!

Overall well-being

Incorporating regular physical activity into your routine can boost mood, reduce stress, and improve self-esteem. As you witness the positive impact on both body and mind, your confidence will grow exponentially. Taking care of your mental health also helps you become better equipped to tackle the daily challenges that independence brings, as you develop a solid foundation

Inspire others with your story

Look forward to inspiring others with your recovery journey and become a role model and a voice for others who are seeking help with their chronic and complex symptoms.

I know from personal experience that living with chronic and complex conditions isn’t easy. You don’t have to live in chronic pain. You don’t have to continue suffering. Sometimes you feel like it’ll never get better, but the time has come for that to end and for you to begin your journey of healing!
